Why We’re Taking the Day Off
If you reach out to JL Sports today, you might notice we’re a little quieter than usual.
That’s because our team isn’t at their desks. They’re out in their communities.
Every year, we dedicate a full paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO) day so every team member can support a cause that’s meaningful to them. There isn’t a company-assigned project or a required organization. We believe the people who live in their communities know best where they can make a difference.
Today, our team is spending the day restoring schools, volunteering at local animal shelters, cleaning parks, lakes, rivers, and trails, picking up litter, supporting community organizations, and lending a hand wherever it’s needed.
Giving back has always been part of who we are. Sustainability isn’t just about the products we make or the way we manufacture. It’s also about investing in the communities we call home.
As a family-owned and operated business, we believe businesses have a responsibility to do more than serve customers. They should help strengthen the places where their employees and customers live, work, and raise their families.
So today, we’re stepping away from work to do exactly that.
Tomorrow, we’ll be back designing, manufacturing, and serving athletes around the world. But today, we’re serving our communities.
Because giving back isn’t something we talk about. It’s something we do.
